Xiaomi Redmi is a range of budget smartphones which is very popular among Indians. A new range of smartphones was recently released by Xiaomi in India – Redmi 6 series.
Xiaomi says it has 29 per cent market share in India. One out of three phones sold in India is from Xiaomi.
Xiaomi Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, and Redmi 6 Pro are the three phones under the new Redmi 6 series. Two of these, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A come at an introductory price which may soon change in two months, depending upon rupee fluctuation.
Flipkart and Amazon are the main retailers of the phone and Redmi 6 is actually just Flipkart exclusive. Mark your calendars for following dates:
10th September onwards – Redmi 6 sale on Flipkart
11th September onwards – Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro on both the official site and Amazon.
The phone will also be available in Mi Homes and via offline partners soon, though the company did not specify an exact date.
Xiaomi Redmi 6
Redmi 6 has a 5.45 inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio.The phone supports dual SIM slots along with a dedicated microSD card slot. There is a 5MP front camera which also supports face unlock powered by AI. The camera also has Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for better video quality.The smartphone is run by an octa-core Helio P22 processor, which can be clocked at up to 2.0GHz and fueled by a battery of 3000 mAh. The company claims 30 per cent improvement over the previous generation.
Redmi 6 comes with a RAM of 3 GB/4 GB and a storage of 32 GB/64 GB. With microSD card, it can go upto 256 GB.The phone will be available in rose gold, blue, black, and gold colour options. Redmi 6 will cost Rs 7,999 for base storage model with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal space. The 3GB RAM and 64GB storage model of Redmi 6 will cost Rs 9,499.
Xiaomi Redmi 6A
Redmi 6A is being dubbed as “Desh Ka Naya Smartphone”. It is only available in 2GB+16GB storage variant and internal storage is expandable is expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. It also has a 5.45 inch HD+ display. The camera resolution is 13 MP on the back with 5 MP on the front. It mostly has the same features as Redmi 6. It has a screen to body ratio of 80 per cent and also has a brushed metallic finish and arc design
Redmi 6A with 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage will cost Rs 5,999. The version with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage will cost Rs 6,999.
It will be available in blue, gold, rose gold and black colour options.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro
Redmi 6 Pro gets a 5.84-inch FHD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a notch on top. The phone has dual rear cameras and AI powered face unlock. Redmi 6 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with Adreno 506 for graphics. It will be available in 3GB RAM 32GB storage and 4GB RAM 64GB storage models. Xiaomi promises a two day battery life with its 4000 mAh battery power. The phone can be bought in red, blue, black, and gold colour options. Redmi 6 Pro is the most expensive one in the list with a better processor and dual rear camera.
Redmi 6 Pro will cost Rs 10,999, and the sale on Mi.com and Amazon India will begin from 12 PM on September 11. The higher-end 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant of Redmi 6 Pro is priced at Rs 12,999.
All the phones come with Android 8.1 with MIUI 9 on top.
